As India's largest tech company, Jio's influence extends into the daily lives of hundreds of millions through its suite of 70+ apps in telecom, e-commerce, entertainment, and security. To unify this ecosystem, we crafted a design system designed to be the visual framework that is both cohesive yet distinct to each brand. With automation at its core, we pushed limits of each component to empower Jio to consistently create and deliver new products and features at scale. This design system not only transformed design at Jio, but also shaped the digital experiences of the billion of users that interact with the brand every day.

< COLOR LOGIC and MANAGEMENT >
Color was central to every Jio product, capturing the vibrancy of India’s culture. We created a color logic system capable of handling trillions of combinations, ensuring every tone worked seamlessly across the brand ecosystem. Through automation, we applied color to each components resulting in ensuring designs were always AA accessible. Finally we created a theme generator which generates new color palettes for new products.
< SLOT SYSTEM >
Maximizing Figma’s potential, we developed a slot system for components that required consistency across products such as navigation. By assigning pre-defined options, designers could customize components to fit their needs while maintaining a coherent logic across all brands.
< Implementation & Training >
Our team embedded within each Jio product team to lead the redesign of the entire ecosystem using the new design system. Automation allowed us to quickly align apps, accelerating the transformation.To ensure proper adoption, we crafted bespoke training sessions for over 80 product designers, creative directors, and user experience specialists at Jio. In addition, a governance model and documentation wiki allowed the system to scale into the future.
